Student-athletes will receive recognition for their 2009-10 athletics efforts on Thursday, May 20 at 1 p.m. in the BG Gym. The event is not open to public, but parents are welcome to attend. Winners of the 83rd Cohen Blanket Award as well as the Ron Fiochetti Baseball Award will be announced.

Miranda Merilli, '09, a standout in softball for BG, is now making her talents known on a national level as a pitcher New York University Polytech (NYU-POLY).

Middle hitter Melissa Wolfe will continue her volleyball career at Penn State Altoona. Wolfe was a two-time District 6 all-star and a three-year letter winner for BG. She also played USA Volleyball for the Swashbuckler's Volleyball Club. She won the BG's co-MVP her senior year and the Unsung Hero Award her junior year. "Melissa's skills are well suited for college volleyball," said Coach Bob Kasun, '84. "She was a big part of our team's success over the past three years."
