The Drama Club is a great part of the action here at Bishop Guilfoyle. Students from all grades are able to audition for singing, dancing and acting roles in the Fall Play and the Spring Musical. The hours put into each production create a tight-knit cast as well as lasting friendships and countless memories. Students who do not wish to act can involve themselves by helping with prop-making, costumes, make-up, choreography, set design, stage management or lighting. There is something for everyone in Drama Club.
Seussical, Into the Woods, The Wiz, Beauty and the Beast, Bye, Bye, Birdie, Footloose, and Grease are all shows that the Drama Club has performed since 2007. As well, the BG productions have been nominated for, and have won, multiple awards at the Isaacs, which are held annually at the Mishler Theatre. The Isaac Awards are given out to recognize excellence in local high school theater productions. The BG Drama club has been nominated a total of 28 times in its last 6 productions. This includes 5 recent nominations and a win for Best Supporting Actor in a Female Role for our 2022 musical, Seussical.
