The Heritage Society

Making a planned gift to Bishop Guilfoyle Catholic High School is very special to us.  It states that you not only care about supporting the mission of the school today, but tomorrow.  You are a visionary leader and we honor you.

You become a member of The Heritage Society by simply letting us know  that you included Bishop Guilfoyle in your will or estate plan.  As a member, you receive a small gift as a token of our appreciation.  You will be recognized each year in the Annual Report of Giving as a member of The Heritage Society.  (If you choose to remain anonymous, we will honor your request, but remember that you may inspire others who see your name.) Please contact the Development Office for more information on The Heritage Society.

What is a Planned Gift?

  • A way to make a charitable gift now / presented after your lifetime
  • Reap the financial benefits now; if your estate is subject to estate tax, your gift is entitled to an estate tax charitable deduction for the gift’s full value
  • Requires some planning with help from your tax accountant or financial advisor
  • Made from assets in your estate; does not deplete your disposable income
  • A gift that is realized upon your death
  • Everyone can make a planned gift, even those with modest means
  • Most common type of gift is a bequest in your will

A Gift in Your Will

We hope that you would choose to include Bishop Guilfoyle Catholic High School in your will or estate planning.  This type of gift is simple, versatile, flexible, and can provide tax relief.

  • To make a charitable bequest, you will need to create a new will/or use your current will
  • Your gift can be a percentage of your estate or a specific cash amount, security or property
  • Upon your death, Bishop Guilfoyle will receive your designated gift

Gifts of Life Insurance

Did you know that gifts of life insurance are an excellent way to make a charitable gift to Bishop Guilfoyle?  Often times, people have multiple policies that they have purchased for various reasons.  Perhaps a policy you purchased years ago is no longer needed for the purpose intended.   A gift of life insurance is easy to make and in most cases is tax deductible.  Proceeds are paid out to the beneficiary shortly after death.  You may choose to make Bishop Guilfoyle the owner and beneficiary of a policy, or simply a beneficiary.  Please contact the Development Office for more information on making a gift of life insurance.
