SADD

Students Against Destructive Decisions is a very popular club at Bishop Guilfoyle. Students are encouraged to be conscious of the decisions that they make that could potentially be problematic to their futures, especially when it comes to drinking and driving and drug use.

Each year, SADD brings in the Street Smart Program to demonstrate the procedures that paramedics use on those seriously injured in drunk driving car accidents. A video is shown as well to better inform students of the possible consequences for their actions. This assembly is very informative for students and can have a large impact when it comes to their future decisions. In the spring, SADD brings in the Hot 92/Hot 100 radio station during the week of Prom. Students can pledge to not drink on prom night and to not use drugs.

SADD also participates in Red Ribbon Week each year, encouraging a Drug Free school environment. Students are encouraged to show that they are Drug Free by wearing the red ribbon during the week.
