Misciagna Technology Center

As we all know, computers are at the heart of modern life. More and more leisure activities require technological comfort, and more and more professions require specialized proficiency. Therefore, it is essential that technology play a growing role in the education of our students. In 1996, Anthony and Carolyn Misciagna had the desire to make a difference in the education of our students at Bishop Guilfoyle Catholic High School. They donated over $127,000 to establish the Misciagna Technology Center.

Technology changes daily. The average desktop PC has a functional lifespan of roughly two to five years. Newer versions of software dictate compatibility with the hardware components; either they don't have enough space to store their files or don't meet the requirements for the latest software. Upgrading is not an option. To address these changes, Bishop Guilfoyle Catholic High School would like to completely overhaul our three computer labs. However, the funds for such materials are not provided for in the yearly budget; therefore, we have dedicated our spring mailing for this purpose. The renovation of the three labs will cost approximately $150,000. The renovated labs will include state of the art hardware and the necessary components to run newer versions of the software that challenge our students' minds.

We want to continue providing the students of Bishop Guilfoyle Catholic High School with a top-rated education. You can call the Development Office at 814-944-3987 for more information about how you can help.
