Career & Technical Education Pathway

Some BG students choose to complement their academic coursework by attending the Greater Altoona Career & Technology Center.
Through this partnership, students can pursue hands-on training and industry-recognized certifications in more than 25 in-demand career pathways, while remaining fully enrolled at Bishop Guilfoyle Academy.

BG students benefit from reduced tuition while gaining real-world experience that prepares them for immediate employment, continued training, or college study.

HIGHLIGHTS OF BG CURRICULUM

INTERNSHIPS & RESEARCH EXPERIENCES

BG students exceed state graduation standards, allowing seniors to design elective experiences aligned with career interests. Opportunities may include internships, research projects, and professional mentorship that help students stand out in college and career pathways.

FLEXIBILITY

Students are not locked into rigid schedules. Independent learners may design flexible class schedules while maintaining academic accountability. When students are empowered to take ownership of their learning, they consistently perform at a high level.

ONE-TO-ONE TECHNOLOGY

Technology at BG enhances learning and supports students’ future success. One-to-one devices provide access to instructional resources while supporting different learning styles. Students learn responsible, intentional use of technology—remaining in control of their learning.

VIRTUAL EDUCATION DAYS

Virtual education days are scheduled throughout the school year and during inclement weather. These days help students build independence, responsibility, and time-management skills using the same learning platforms they will encounter in college.
